Photographer's Comments

"This photograph was taken on a quaint beachfront restaurant in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. The floor is all sand and the walls are filled with all kinds of eccentric items like old bottles, posters, statues and even a piano and chelo. As you walk in, there is a huge blackboard displaying their large menu options. I like the different colors of chalk used with the uneven lines and handwritten text. A lot of the dishes are traditional Belizean cuisine and so this image really captures a peice of Belize's cullinary heritage. Wondering if the food is any good? When asked what specials they had for the day, they responded 'everything on our menu is special'!" Alex Gamero
