Jaguar Preserve
Located in the Stann Creek disctrict, the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary covers 150 square miles. In 1986 it was declared a protected reserve by the government. It was formed to protect its dense population of jaguars – approximately 200, the largest concentration in the world. When hiking through its trails, keep a keen eye out for this elusive and enigmatic cat. You may be one of the lucky few. |
