(Alex Gamero is the owner of DiscoveringBelize.com and has lost count of how many hotels and resorts in Belize he's visited.) This hotel is located in the historic Fort George area of Belize City, which is quiet and within walking distance of many of the city's attractions. It's right infront of the sea and beside the historic Baron Bliss Lighthouse. From here you can walk to the Museum of Belize, House of Culture, St. Johns Cathedral, the downtown commercial area and more. It's a relatively large hotel by Belize standards with about 100 rooms. The nicest rooms are on the club tower where you'll find large glass windows overlooking the sea, marble floors and hardwood furniture. Just beside this tower is the villa tower building which have balconies overlooking the sea. This is a relatively old hotel which has undergone several rennovations over the years so the rooms might look a bit dated, but they are clean and spacious with elegant accents. You'll also find 2 restaurants overlooking the sea, 2 pools, 2 bars (including one by the pool), a gym and art throughout the hotel. They also have a variety of conference rooms which are popular for events, meetings and conventions. They also have a marina. Overall this is a great option if you're planning on staying in Belize City for an overnight stay before heading out to one of the more popular destinatinos in Belize, spending a few days exploring the history and culture of the city or for a business trip in Belize.
