This package will take you into the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve to explore the Mayan ruins of Caracol as well as several waterfalls in the reserve. You'll then head to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye to relax on the beach and snorkel the Barrier Reef. Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve is located in the Cayo district, Belize's most popular jungle destination. It covers 300 square miles of pine forests on the slopes of the Maya Mountains. A tour included in this package will take you to explore one of its primate attractions, waterfalls. Big Rock Falls is a huge waterfall on the Privasson River which is quite a site. At Rio On Pools, large boulders along the river have created a series of freshwater pools that are pefect for swimming. Just beside the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve lies the Chiquibul Forest Reserve with lush broadleaf forests. Here you'll find the Mayan ruins of Caracol, the largest ruins in Belize (included in this package). It has an impressive architecture and was one of the most important Maya sites during their civilization. These adventures are complemented by relaxing at a tranquil jungle lodge, complete with its very own waterfalls. After a few days in the jungle you'll head to Ambergris Caye, Belize’s most popular island destination. This island, off the northern coast of the country, centers around the vibrant town of San Pedro. Upon arriving, you will quickly learn the meaning of the local motto, “no shoes, no shirt, no problem”.  Immersed in the tropical humidity and salt-laden breezes, shoes are usually the first to go, with shorts and shirts replaced by bathing suites and tees soon after. Its cobbled stone and sandy streets are lined by dozens of restaurants, bars and shops. Eating ranges from a casual barbecue on the beach to a 3 course gourmet dinner. The bar scene is great with quaint beach bars, live music and even a couple nightclubs for some dancing. Overall San Pedro is just a great place to relax and have fun. There’s a reason Madonna made a whole song about this island, calling it “Isla Bonita”. The Barrier Reef is a less than a half mile from the island. In fact you you can see the waves breaking over the reef from the shoreline. One of the most famous snorkeling sites in the country, Hol Chan Marine Reserve & Shark Ray Alley, is just 20 minutes away by boat. Included in this package is a snorkeling tour of this marine reserve, where you can see great reefs and abundant marine life.

You can choose between a public bus, rental car or private transfer by SUV. From Belize City to Caye Caulker you can either take a local flight or a Water Taxi boat ride. We can easily arrange any of these options for you.
-  4 Nights Accomodation at the Sunbreeze Hotel in San Pedro Town on Ambergris Caye.
-  Hol Chan Marin Reserve & Shark Ray Alley Snorkeling Tour: includes drinks, snorkeling gear and park fee

Five Sister's Lodge in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve

This resort is located in the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve. The property lays on a sloping mountainside surrounded by lush vegetation. At the base of the river valley lay five waterfalls which give the resort its name, Five Sisters. The restaurant offers a rap around verandah that offers a spectacular view of the falls from high above. The thatched roof cabanas blend into the surroundings. Overall, it offers great value, especially because of the views and waterfall.

Sunbreeze Beach Hotel in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye

This hotel is located in the heart of San Pedro Town. You can enjoy all the town has to offer with just a short walk. It offers comfortable rooms, a nice courtyard, a pool and an excellent restaurant and bar, the Blue Water Grill. All the rooms offer either a partial or full view of the sea. It has managed to stay afloat amongst the fierce competition of hotels on the island by being consistent in its service and comfort. Overall, it is a great value.

Tour of the Mayan Ruins of Caracol

This is the largest Maya city in Belize. The city core covers 15 square miles. One of its most interesting architectural features is that Canna, the largest temple, features a whole plaza, with 3 smaller temples, on top. You can get some pretty spectacular views of the surrounding jungle from the top as well. Interestingly, one of the hieroglyphics at the site records a military conquest over the mighty city of Tikal in neighboring Guatemala. Additionally, as it is part of a nature reserve, you will see a variety of fauna, birds and maybe even a troop of howler monkeys. The tour lasts about 5-6 hours.

Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve Tour: Rio Frio Cave, Rio On Pools & Big Rock Waterfall

This tour will take you to several of the main attractions withing the reserve itself. Rio Frio Cave features a massive entrance with cathedral high ceilings inside. Just past the entrance is a sandy bay with a cool stream. Rio On Pools features a series of pools and small falls. You can take a cool swim or relax on the many warm boulders. There is also a lookout that offers a nice view of all the pools. Big Rock waterfall is impressive, with pine trees towering on both sides and a cool mist spreading from below the falls. Along the way you will spot birds and learn about the reserve’s importance. The tour lasts about 3-4 hours.

Hol Chan Marine Reseve & Shark Ray Alley Snorkeling Tour

This diving and snorkeling site is located just a 10 minutes from the island. It was named as one of the best animal dives in the Caribbean. Hol Chan is centered around a channel that cuts the Barrier Reef, surrounded by a variety of coral and marine life. Shark Ray Alley, as the name says, is where you will find a lot of nurse sharks and also plenty of southern sting rays. They are quite harmless, but make for an exciting dive. Many tour guides offer this tour on the island because of its popularity, but we work with hands-down the best guide on the island, who will make your experience memorable. The tour lasts about 2-3 hours.
