This package will take you fly fishing to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, which has some of the best saltwater flats for tarpon and bonefish in Belize. The mangrove islands and channels behind this island have created saltwater flats renowned in particular for tarpon fishing. They range from 60-90 lbs but can approach 200 lbs. You can site cast for them during most of the year, however, there is a migration of very large tarpon from April to October with the peak months being June, July and August. Also called saltwater torpedoes, the hard fighint fish are known for jumping out of the water when hooked. Fishing for bonefish is excellent as well. They average about 4 lbs but can approach 12 lbs - they are small, but fight hard. Bonefish are plentiful and always a lot of fun to hook. Ambergris Caye is located off the northern coast of the country. It centers around the vibrant town of San Pedro which is a great place to relax and have fun. Its cobbled stone and sandy streets are lined by dozens of restaurants, bars and shops. After a great day of fishing you can head into town to grab a cold beer at a beach bar, order some great food at one of the local restaurants or enjoy some live music. There are also countless coconut trees, a few nice beaches, friendly people and lots of sun. San Pedro is a fun town with excellent fishing for tarpon and bonefish as well.

Itinerary & What's Included:
- You will be welcomed at the International Airport by a representative of DiscoveringBelize.com
- The transfer from the Airport to Ambergris Caye is not included. Your options include a Water Taxi boat (a 2 hour ride) or a puddle jumper (a 15 minute flight). We can easily arrange any of these options for you.
- 6 Nights Accomodations in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. You have a choice between Sunbreeze Beach Hotel or Ramon's Village Resort.

This hotel is located in the heart of San Pedro Town. You can enjoy all the town has to offer with just a short walk. It offers comfortable rooms, a nice courtyard, a pool and an excellent restaurant and bar, the Blue Water Grill. All the rooms offer either a partial or full view of the sea. It has managed to stay afloat amongst the fierce competition of hotels on the island by being consistent in its service and comfort. Overall, it is a great value.

Full Day Saltwater Flats Fly Fishing with Expert Guide
The shallow waters around San Pedro are the only classic tarpon flats outside of South Florida. Tarpons, also known as saltwater torpedoes, are hard-fighting fish that can take you hours to land on a fly-rod. Between May and October there is a migration through these waters where you will have a chance to find obscenely large tarpons. The channels and flats around the mangrove islands offer great bonefish all year. These little fish, are small, but fight hard. You may find the occasional permit, but it is the southern coast that is best known for catching these elusive fish. Other species can be caught as well of course. The guide has years of experience and can cater to both amateur and veteran, as well as fly or spin casting.
